Smart Classroom

Library

Students have access to a robust library collection. The goal of the school library is to ensure our students have access to books to read, information and educational material. The library provides a quiet environment for students to focus and study as well.


Lab

Hands on experience and practical knowledge is important for a student. Our computer and science labs provide our students everything they need to apply the theoretical knowledge in a practical environment.


Sports, games and playground

Students from all classes are encouraged to be physically active providing them with a holistic approach to education. A large playground, game, and sport equipment, coaching for various sports etc. are available to our students.

ACADEMIC YEAR

The academic year of the school consists of three terms : June- August, September-December and January – March.

SCHEME OF EDUCATION

PLAYSCHOOL : Children above two and a half years are admitted in play school.

KINDERGARTEN : The kindergarten classes are designed so as to acquire basic skills and form concepts. It helps them in providing a strong foundation for their physical , intellectual and social development.

STANDARD I – IX : The school follows a comprehensive education based on NCERT syllabus. Emphasis is laid on conversational English , learning activities and leadership qualities.

ACADEMIC FACILITIES : The school has excellent facilities for ideal residential education for girls. Boys and girls are also admitted as day scholars. Spacious class rooms, Library , Laboratory, Computer Lab, Maths Lab and other facilities for Audio-Visual education are provided.

BOARDING : Nicholson girls boarding home has a tradition and reputation of more than 100 years. Homely atmosphere, hygienic food, adequate recreational facilities and spiritual upbringing are the highlights. Students are normally allowed to go home once a month. Visitors are allowed on Saturdays 1 to 5 pm. All boarders have to attend Sunday worship at the chapel. Sunday School classes are also arranged for boarders.

Students reporting time : 9:00 a.m.
School Assembly : 9:10 a.m.
Beginning of classes : 9:15 a.m.
Noon interval : 12:40 p.m.
Afternoon session : 1:10 p.m.
Closing of classes : 3:15 p.m.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES : Facilities for physical training and various sports and games are provided. Separate classes are arranged for Dance, Music, Yoga, Karate , Instrument, Home Science.

MORNING ASSEMBLY : The school begins with morning assembly. Important announcements , distribution of prizes and birthday greetings are done during the assembly. Students are encouraged to take leadership in conducting the assembly.

EXAMINATION : Academic progress is evaluated through comprehensive and continuous evaluation., Semester Examinations, Mid-Term examinations and class tests are conducted. Open houses are arranged to evaluate semester and mid-term scores. Promotion is decided on the basis of over-all progress throughout the year.

TEXTBOOKS AND NOTEBOOKS : Textbooks and notebooks are issued from the school on payment.
